How many people are doing Multi Dose Injections (MDI) still ? Or are you all now on pumps ? does everyone have access to a CGM (Dexcom, Libre) .
It would be interesting to see if there are post code lotteries. My pump/CGM are funded by Guys hospital in London and I’m told they are a diabetes research hub so have more money to fund Diabetes equipment. I don’t know if that is true and I am really lucky or everyone has access to equipment like this.

In New Zealand, they are rolling out fully-funded pumps to all T1Ds who want one. Great news after being a diabetic backwater for so long Fully funded CGMs are now available to all too.

I've been on a pump for just over a year now and it certainly makes night time management a lot easier than MDI did.

Great to hear, I wouldnt be without my pump and sensor, it changed my life completely, particularly my Time in Range figures.

I'm on MDI with my belly like a pincushion, however since attending the DAFNE course my time in range has jumped from around 40% to 78%. I understand that here in Wales there us a funding constraints surrounding pump approval and not sure what the waiting time will be. I have type 3C so not automatically entitle as not strictly type 1, but hopefully someday soon Very Happy At least my Libre 2+ has been a game changer for me.

Hi Simon, Ive got to be honest in that I wasnt sure what Type 3C was, so had to do a bit of research, always worth doing. Mmmm, I remember very well the pincushion days, it often feels like there are as many needles going into me still, but of course they're not. Memory can be distorted sometimes. Thankfully I get a fully funded Omnipod 5 pump and Dexcom G7 sensor via Addenbrookes. I wouldnt be without it at all as MarkE said earlier in this post. Your TIR has risen massively since doing a DAFNE course, thats brilliant. Are you like others who keep striving for the next big number on the TIR, I know I do, daft really, but I feel I have to aim for something. I hope you get some news on a pump soon, great to hear the Libre 2+ is working so well for you. Stay cool in this hot weather.
